What is EMDR therapy?
Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, painful experiences from the past continue to shape how you feel today. You may notice anxiety, self-doubt, grief, or a sense of being “on edge” that won’t go away. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a research-backed approach designed to help your brain process difficult memories so they no longer hold the same weight. Instead of only talking about what happened, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements, sounds, or tapping) to help the brain “reprocess” stuck memories.
How EMDR Can Help
Many of my clients use EMDR to work through:
Self-esteem struggles — shifting core beliefs like “I’m not enough” or “I always fail” into more balanced truths.
Family issues and relationship wounds — processing painful dynamics, conflict, or attachment injuries so you can relate differently in the present.
Traumatic incidents — from car accidents or medical events to experiences of loss, betrayal, or overwhelming stress.
My Approach
I blend EMDR with an attachment-centered, person-focused style. That means we’ll move at your pace, always keeping emotional safety at the forefront. EMDR with me is not just about reducing symptoms, it’s about helping you rewrite the way you see yourself and your relationships.
